Making the BEST out of the COVID-19 situation
It's the 2nd day of the Enhance Community Quarantine, and maybe most of you are making the most out of the situation to rest or to catch up to the latest Netflix craze.
I do agree that we should take this opportunity to relax in some ways but I also believe that this is also an opportunity for us to better ourselves.
Here are some of the activities you can do to make the BEST out of the COVID-19 situation.
1) Read the books you got from Book Sales
Whether it's from the Manila Internation Book Fair or Big Bad Wolf, most probably you still got books that are still in plastic cover.
Now it's time to take the 2nd step in the investment of knowledge, which is reading and learning from these books that you've got.
You got all the time that you need and it's a good opportunity to digest the information from each of these books. Start with the ones that you love just to get the momentum of reading then put it down after 1 or two chapters to get a breather.
2) Take care of your body
It's so easy to overeat these days and I think part of it is boredom or it's just so easy to munch on food when you're watching TV / Netflix, or playing video games all day.
I'm guilty of this too but as of this writing, I decided that I would get over this Enhance Community Quarantine as a healthier version of myself or even just maintain my health level before this situation started.
A lot of things got disrupted and that includes your eating habits and workout routine and you're in no way alone in this struggle but now it's time for us to get back on track and take better care of our bodies.
In my case, I was doing intermittent fasting before the quarantine started and I'm struggling or let's just say I kinda let go of the eating discipline.
Like what I've shared above, it's time for us to get back on track. If you were able to maintain your health routines even after the quarantine started then good for you but for those who didn't, it's never too late.

Personally, these are the simple things that I do to take care of my body
a) Eat right - which means as much as possible no junk foods. Vegetables and fruits are very much welcome. A good rule of thumb is that the less processed a food is, the healthier.
Food is our body's fuel and the quality of fuel we take in affects how our bodies perform
b) Exercise properly - You must know that you have a proper form when doing your exercises. You can easily search for guides through youtube on how to properly execute exercises.
A good workout routine that you can do at home are Tabata exercises. In my opinion, these routines are very efficient in terms of time and space. Minimal space required and a 15 - 30 mins of workout would get your heart pumping and body sweating.
c) Rest well - developing your body is a cycle of breaking down (exercise) and building (rest), that's why you must have a good quality of sleep. The food that you eat serves as the building block as well.
A good tip is that you should make your room as dark as possible and cold enough for you to relax.
3) Learn a new hobby
Maybe you wanted to try baking, cooking, playing the piano, or a guitar. This is the time to explore those interests.
No one is stopping you to enjoy (Netflix, video games), while this situation is ongoing but when this ends and you come out of it as a better person, your future self will thank you for it!
